[Billiards Challenge] Tournament Rules & Regulations

I. Preliminary Round: Scoring Zone Challenge
  • Scoring Criteria: The cue ball (white ball) must come to a complete stop entirely within the designated scoring zone to score points.
  • Foul Determination: If the cue ball touches the boundary line or stops outside the zone, the shot will be deemed invalid and no points will be awarded.
  • Qualification: The top 4 players with the highest total scores will advance to the Finals.

II. Finals: Knockout Stage (Chinese 8-Ball)
  • Format: Single elimination using Chinese 8-Ball rules.
  • Match Length: Best of 7 frames (first to win 4 frames wins the match).
  • Handicap Rules:
    1. Ladies' Advantage: Female players receive a 1-ball advantage at the start of every frame.
    2. Winning Streak Handicap: If Player A wins two consecutive frames, they must concede a 1-ball handicap to Player B starting from the next frame. (Maximum cumulative handicap: 3 balls).

III. Special Handicap Rule: "Last Ball Handicap"
As per standards recognized by the Hong Kong Billiard Sports Control Council Co. Ltd.
  • Definition: The player receiving this handicap wins the frame immediately upon potting their last remaining object ball (the penultimate ball of the game).
  • In Chinese 8-Ball: Under normal rules, a player must pot the black 8-ball to win. With the "Last Ball Handicap," the player wins the frame as soon as they legally pot their final colored ball (solid or stripe), without needing to pot the black 8-ball.
